Conference Schedule

SYMPOSIUM UPDATES:

Kirk Swinehart has had to withdraw from the symposium program
due to medical issues. His session time will be divided between a later
start on Sunday and additional time for the final presentation on the
Johnson Papers Legacy Project.

Oren Lyons will be at an Indigenous Peoples Conference in Sweden in October and is unable to attend. His place on Sunday’s Haudensaunee panel will be taken by Dan Longboat (Mohawk), Assistant Professor & Director of the Indigenous Environmental Studies Program at Trent University, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.


All symposium sessions will be held in the FMCC Theater
and broadcast to nearby viewing rooms.

"RE-ENVISIONING HISTORY” Exhibit
Perrella Gallery, FMCC

A concurrent exhibit, “Re-Envisioning History” will open on October 20th., with a special reception at 5pm. The Month-long exhibit features the work of contemporary artists Geoffrey Harding, Robert Griffing, Debra Grover, Bert Ducey, Ray Helmicki, Michael Galban, Eileen Sammons and Peter Jemison who bring the eighteenth century world to life. Books and Art Prints will be available for purchase.



Enhance your symposium experience

Register for an optional conference package that enables you to attend a pre-symposium reception at Johnson Hall State Historic Site on Friday night and includes a box lunch on Saturday, a printed copy of all symposium presentations, guaranteed theater seating (up to 15 minutes before opening) and a special conference bag – all for $45.00. Enjoy an 18th Century Dinner

A limited number of tickets are available for an 18th Century Dinner at Union Hall in Johnstown, Saturday Oct 20, 7:30-9:00 pm. Eighteenth century attire is optional. Menu will feature local specialties typical of Sir William Johnson’s hospitality. $35 per person.
